    Mercer Co., Kentucky Will Book 6, p. 257, recorded Feb. 1820 lists wife as Elizabeth, leaves children of first wife (Thomas, Job, Joel, Levi, Ann) 25 cents each. Everything else goes to Elizabeth to divide among the children as they come of age.

    Complaint is made of Sampson Wickersham for behaving himself in a unseemly manner with a young woman, with whom it is suspected he is absconded, his having left his wife and family and place of abode. On consideration of which, this meeting appoints Wm. Philips Junr, Wm and Robt Samborn to make inquiry into the charge and if they have cause to forbear, produce a testimony to next meeting.

    THOMAS WICKERSHAM
    "The following is the testamony of the monthly meeting of Newark in
    Pennsylvania concerning him -
    Thomas Wickersham came from Bolney in the County of Sussex in Old England in
    the year 1700 Having a Certificate from Horsham monthly meeting in said
    County recommending him as an honest man and in unity with faithful friends,
    he was an early settler in Marlborough in Chester County, and a member of
    Newark monthly meeting & Kennett particular meeting the remainder of his
    life--His care in attending meetings for worship & discipline was remarkable
    & is worthy of immitation. He was chosen Elder for Kennett meeting in 1714,
    in which station he continued 'till about the year 1718 when he appeared in
    the ministry which was mostly some seasonal exhortations to faithfulness and
    was generally well received by friends being in the simplicity of truth, his
    conversation agreeing therewith, he retained his integrity to the truth
    'till the last, and died in a good old age at his own house in the 4th mo:
    1730, and was buried in Kennett burying ground. A minister about 12 years."
