First at Tuckerman, where he lived on Holt Avenue, and then at the Newport, AR, Air Force base, he was in the grocery business for a total of 47 years. A fisherman and hunter who loved both basketball and baseball, he was active in politics and civic matters and was a member of the Methodist Church. He died July 15, 1964, at Newport. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery. He married January 26, 1917, at Tuckerman, AR, Ruth Bliss, born June 6, 1898, died May 15, 1988, at Tuckerman.
