A fisherman and hunter who loved both basketball and baseball, he was active in politics and civic matters and was a member of the Methodist Church. He died July 15, 1964, at Newport. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery.
He married January 26, 1917, at Tuckerman, AR, Ruth Bliss, born June 6, 1898, died May 15, 1988, at Tuckerman.
