  • Notes
    • Motie Callans passed away at the Asta Care Facility in Colfax, IL. Sunday,
Dec 23rd, 2012 at the age of 97.

She was born June 16, 1915, in Colfax, IL., to John Junior Williams and
Ella May Blevins. Her immediate family included sisters June Goodpaster, and Olive
Watterson and brother John Williams. She was a member of the Colfax Methodist Church.
She married Fred Lincoln Callans in 1938 and resided in
both Bloomington and Normal her whole life. Fred was the owner and
operator of the Callans Sporting Goods Store. Motie had worked for many years
at State Farm starting in 1933. She also worked as a guide for Ewing Castle.

Motie was preceeded in death by her husband, and their son, Paul Frederick Callans.

She is survived by grandsons Steven, Michael, and Adam Callans of
Gurnee, Wilmette, and Chicago, IL respectively and granddaughter Vicky Hardesty of
Northbrook, IL. Motie also had 9 Great Grandchildren, Amanda, Heather,
Casey, Carly, Griffin, Isabell, Wells, Matthew, and Jack.

Motie enjoyed singing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines. She always
had a piano in her house and was willing to sing and play to anyone who
was blessed to visit her home.

She worked at the McLean County nursing home for many years but was paid
back in abundance by the loving care she received at the Asta Care Facility
      in her hometown of Colfax.

We will all dearly miss her, but she had been wanting to go home for quite
some time. According to her wishes, there will be a private burial ceremony beside
her husband Fred. If you knew Motie, you know she wouldn't want anybody
to fuss over her. Memorials may be made to the Asta Care Facility in Colfax, Il.
